Bulgaria's Lalova Advances to 200 m Semifinals in Daegu

Bulgaria's top sprinter Ivet Lalova reached the semifinals of the 200 m sprint at the World Athletics Championship in Daegu, South Korea.

The Bulgarian finished in 22.62 seconds and finished second in her heat, defeated only by  Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, who ran the fastest time of the morning to win in 22.46 seconds.

Ivet Lalova has already ended 7th out of eight sprinters that reached the final of the 100 m sprint

Lalova, who is known as the world's fastest white woman, was the only European in the 100 meter final of the world competition. She ran the 100 meters in 11.27 seconds.

Carmelita Jeter, who won the 100 m gold on Monday, won her heat in 22.68, while Shalonda Solomon, who has the fastest time this year of 22.15, won her heat in 22.69, Eurosport informs.
