A light earthquake has been registered in southeastern Bulgaria, the European Seismological Center reported.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which hit at 4 am Tuesday, was located 6 km east of the southeastern town of Topolovgrad and 16 km southwest of the town of Elhovo.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale, and occurred at a depth of 5 km.

There are no reports of material damages or injuries.
