Top female Bulgarian sprinter Ivet Lalova has achieved a startling success at the semi-final of the 100 m sprint at World Athletics Championship in Daegu, South Korea, making it to the final.

In the semi-final on Sunday, Lalova ran 100 m in 11.23 seconds finishing third, which was enough to make her the only European to reach the final.

Lalova, who is also known as the world's fastest white woman, has thus become the second Bulgarian to reach the final in the 100 m sprint category.

Her run on Sunday was not as good as her performance in the quarter-final a day earlier when she ran 100 m in 11.10 seconds.

The final of the women's 100 m sprint at the World Athletics Championship in Daegu, South Korea, is scheduled for 3:45 pm EET (1:45 GMT).
