Bulgaria's Foreign Affairs Minister, Nikolay Mladenov, is tying the knot with his girlfriend Gergana Saturday at the Evsinograd State Residence.

Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, is their best man. He said he will give the couple a top-of-the-line TV set as gift, but would not wear his tailcoat, as previously reported, in order to not outshine the groom.

The Maid of Honor will be the rising opera star, soprano Valentina Korchakova, who is a close friend of the couple.

The guests include relatives and friends, Ministers, Members of the Parliament, diplomats, current Mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov, his predecessor, Hristo Kirchev, and Varna Regional Governor, Dancho Simeonov.

The wedding church and civil ceremonies begin in the late afternoon in the magnificent Evsinograd garden.

Nikolay and Gergana have been dating for the last two years, but know each other since 2007. The couple met in Brussels when both had jobs at the European Parliament. Gergana still works there as an assistant to MEP, Vladimir Uruchev, from the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party.

The "Evsinograd" castle is located near the Bulgarian Black Sea capital Varna.

Since 1891, the castle, named "Evsinograd", after the Greek name of the Black Sea - Euxenos pontos, and built in the French Louis XIII chateau style, has been the summer residence of the Bulgarian royal family. With the coming of the Communists into power, (1944), the castle was turned into an official State residence of the leaders of the Bulgarian Communist Party and the Communist Cabinet. Today it is still used as official State residence.

The vineyards around "Evsinograd" include 115 dekares of the European Traminer, Chardonnay and German Riesling variety as well as the local Misket of Vratsa and Red Misket.
