Bulgaria's Agriculture Ministry is going to request an additional BGN 1.5 M from the State budget to repay old debts, mainly to the Sofia City Hall.

The news was reported Friday by the Bulgarian Dnevnik daily, citing a draft report of Minister Miroslav Naydenov, which is to be submitted with the cabinet in September when the Council of Ministers resumes their regular weekly meetings.

According to Naydenov's report, the Ministry owes the Sofia City Hall BGN 580 000 in taxes and fees for trash removal between 2005 and 2009; BGN 213 000 for building taxes and fees for 2010, and BGN 31 000 in interest.

Additionally, the Agriculture Ministry owes nearly BGN 109 000 for taxes and fees for buildings in other cities for the 2005 – 2009 period.

The total debt amount will reach BGN 1.5 M by the end of the year, according to the report.
