Bulgarian Revenue Agency, NRA, has launched a probe of 47 yachts at the beach resort towns of St. Vlass and Nessebar on the southern Black Sea coast.

The information was reported Tuesday by the NRA press center.

The revenue agents have listed the registration plates of the yachts and now Maritime Administration is identifying their owners. NRA will follow with a check to see if the latters' declared income corresponds to their asserts. There will be an audit of the violators.

In March 2011, NRA informed that owners of luxury yachts and automobiles in Sofia owe BGN 11 M in unpaid taxes and insurance, after checking 22 yacht owners and 34 luxury car owners.

NRA further announced it is continuing Tuesday checks of various establishments on the Black Sea coast.

In one such check, at the largest summer resort Sunny Beach, the owners of a restaurant there usually declared BGN 1 400 to 2 000 in revenues a month, while during the probe the amount jumped to BGN 3 000 a night.

"Everyone who breaks the law will be sent to the authorities. The State remains uncompromising in such cases," NRA Director, Krasimir Stefanov, is quoted saying.
