Presidential and vice-presidential candidates Meglena Kuneva and Lyubomir Hristov will embark on a 20-day nationwide tour across Bulgaria.

40-plus Bulgarian cities will provide tents where Bulgaria's first and former EU Commissioner and her vice-presidential partner will call for signatures of support.

The campaign will involve all of the 600 members of the initiative committee behind Kuneva and Hristov's bids, accompanied by over 400 volunteers.

The pre-election tour will start 21 August, 2011 in Bulgaria's southern city of Stara Zagora.

Since June 06, when Kuneva officially announced that she would take part in the 2011 presidential race as an independent candidate, she has visited 33 towns in Bulgaria and attended close to 100 meetings.

Under Bulgarian laws, Kuneva and Hristov must submit a list of no less than 7000 signatures of citizens in their support with the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

The initiative committee plans to collect double the amount of signatures required.
