An angry crowd waited for Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik as he arrived in court Monday, hours after the country held a minute's silence to mourn his victims.

Two people tried to open the door of the car Breivik and attack him, the Norwegian Dagbladet daily reports.

Monday's hearing was held behind closed doors because of security fears and to prevent potential "coded messages". Breivik's lawyer, Geir Lippestad, refused to make any comments after the 35-minute hearing.

Behring Breivik, 32, is being held in connection with the bombing in Oslo's government district on Friday that killed at least seven people and shootings that left at least 80 people dead at a youth camp on nearby Utoya island the same day.

During questioning, Brevik revealed that he had intended to kill former Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland during her presentation on the island earlier in the afternoon but he was delayed.

In a media statement published earlier Monday, the local prosecuting authority said that it will seek extension of the time Breivik can be kept in custody from the maximum allowable four weeks to eight weeks.
