Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has been described as "the hero" that will slay "the three-headed dragon" by his ruling centrist-right GERB's key MP, Iskra Fidosova.

Fidosova referred to Borisov's political enemy, the three-way coalition, which ruled the country for one term between 2005 and 2009. The three-way government included members of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and former Tsar Simeon Saxe-Coburg's National Movement for Stability and Prosperity.

The coalition has now been modified to include BSP, DPS and the rightist Blue Coalition, Fidosova claimed Monday, basing her assumption on the fact that these three movements have pledged to back the no confidence motion against GERB's minority government submitted earlier that day.

"And so the Bulgarian hero will appear, loved, respected, adored by everyone, and he will chop the dragon's three heads with one strike," the MP said.

The no confidence vote over the failure in internal and home affairs of the Interior Ministry and the delay in joining the Schengen Area, originally planned for March 2011, has been initiated by the opposition, led by BSP and DPS.

The right-wing Blue Coalition, which used to back the Borisov Cabinet, has declared it will support the no confidence vote over what it regards as personal failures of Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov. The conservative Order, Law and Justice Party, RZS, is also backing the vote.

In order for the vote to pass, 121 Members of the Parliament (half of all 240 plus 1) have to vote for. GERB has 117 MPs. The 18 independent MPs, who left RZS, Ataka and the Blue Coalition have declared they will vote against, giving GERB the comfort of over 130 votes.
