Body of Strangled Young Woman Found in Lively Sofia Park

The body of 28-year-old Bulgarian Yana Krasteva was discovered Sunday in the capital Sofia's Borisova Gradina park, the country's Interior Ministry has announced.

Forensic experts have come to the conclusion that the young woman was strangled. She was neither robbed nor raped, the Trud daily has stated. Meanwhile, the Blitz online tabloid has reported her body was found naked.

Blitz has shared conflicting pieces of information about the victim's identity, claiming she had the lifestyle of a "homeless person", but also stating she rented an apartment and worked in a mall.

Krasteva was most probably murdered after a Judas Priest concert she attended late on Friday, police officers have said.

Borisova Gradina is a lively and popular park in downtown Sofia, but is extremely badly lighted and is considered dangerous at night.
