Bulgarian economist Lubomir Hristov is the most likely Vice Presidential nominee on the ticket of former EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva.

According to unconfirmed reports of Darik radio, Hristov's bid will be officially presented on July 12.

Hristov is part of the 53-member initiative committee which officially backed Kuneva's presidential nomination on June 06.

In Kuneva's words, the Vice President must be a "non-aligned" person who is of great important for the nation. He holds a PhD in economics and reads lectures at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

Hristov has been chief economist at the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), an advisor to the executive director of the World Bank and an executive director of Bulgaria's Central Depository (CD).
