Yitzhak Rabin's Memoirs Published for 1st Time in Bulgarian

The memoirs of late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin have been published for the first time in Bulgarian.

The book entitled "Yitzhak Rabin. Memoirs" has been formally presented at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, with Yuval Rabin, the son of the Israeli stateman arriving in Bulgaria specially for the presentation.

Yitzhak Rabin (1922-1995) was the fifth Prime Minister of Israel, the first native-born, and the only to be assassinated. He served two terms in office, 1974–1977 and from 1992 until his assassination in 1995. In 1994, Rabin won the Nobel Peace Prize together with Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat. He was assassinated by right-wing Israeli radical Yigal Amir, who was opposed to Rabin's signing of the Oslo Accords.

"My father stood for the capability of setting goals and finding strategies and ways to achieve them," Yuval Rabin said at the presentation of the book published by Sivass Consulting, a Bulgarian publishing house.

"My father has never said there will be an easy way out of the so called Oslo Process. The talks in Camp David, the Oslo Accords – these were only consultations, not final agreements. And I need to point out that my father was complying with realities, not with the future or the past," Yuval Rabin told the Bulgarian Trud daily in an interview.
