Pironkova-Defeater Kvitova Wins Wimbledon 2011

Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova became the winner of this year's Wimbledon after defeating Russian Maria Sharapova 6:3, 6:4 Saturday.

Kvitova came to the final after a hard quarterfinal against best Bulgarian player Tsvetana Pironkova, which the Czech won Tuesday 6:3, 6:7, 6:2. ???

Saturday Kvitova was in top form and left no chance for Sharapova, who started out well, only to be crushed during the first set.

This is the best showing for Petra Kvitova, 21, whose best achievement this far was reaching the semi-final of 2010's Wimbledon.
