Rain has delayed the start of the Wimbledon quarter-final match between Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova and Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.
The match was scheduled to start at 1 pm GMT but because of the rain it will not start before 2 pm local time; it is still unclear how much it will be delayed or whether it might be put off.
Pironkova, seeded 32, is facing the eighth-seeded Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.
Kvitova hasn't dropped a set yet headed into the quarterfinals and has faced the 29th (Vinci) and 19th (Wickmayer) seeds on her way to today.
Pironkova however has defeated Zvonareva (2) and Venus Williams (23) on her way. She too has yet to drop a set.
Pironkova has lost both of her matches against Kvitova to date – in 2008 in Zurich and Paris. However, the two have never had a faceoff on a grass court.
In the other Wimbledon women's singles quarter-finals Sabine Lisicki will play Marion Bartoli, Tamira Paszek is up against Victoria Azarenka, and Dominika Cibulkova against Maria Sharapova.
