NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has congratulated the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, a prominent NGO, for its 20th anniversary.

"For the last two decades, your institution has made a significant contribution to NATO's efforts to explain the mission and the role of the Alliance to the public in Bulgaria as well as in other Allied and partner nations," NATO Chief Rasmussen says in his letter to the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria.

"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your colleagues for your valuable activity and to encourage you to keep up your contribution to better public understanding of Alliance's objectives and missions," he adds.

The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, a non-governmental, non-partisan organization dedicated to fostering the common values of the Euro-Atlantic community, was formally founded on April 4, 1991.

During 2011, the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria commemorates its 20th anniversary through a special program, which features visits of European Commissioners, prominent Bulgarian and foreign diplomats, conferences on current world and European topics.
