Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov has said he is indifferent to the nomination of any future political opponents of ruling party GERB, dismissing the idea that the party may be forced to reconsider its deferral tactics.

Without further comments on the announcement of former EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva's presidential bid, Tsvetanov refused to reveal whether Regional development Minister Rosen Plevneliev and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova would be GERB's nominations in the presidential race.

"Everything will be announced after the decision is taken", the Interior Minister stated.

Tsvetanov also refused to speak about the resignation of Dushana Zdravkova, a Judge at the Regional Court in the Black Sea city of Varna, terming her political pressure claims "untenable".

The motives, listed by Zdravkova, a former Member of the European Parliament from the now is ruling, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party, include the recent appointment of Vladimira Yaneva, known to be a close friend of Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, as Head of the Sofia City Court.

Regarding the apology required by Velichka Tsanova, head of the Criminal Department of the Sofia City Court, Tsvetanov said: "I would feel better if we settled the matter over the phone, because if she really had a reason to ask for such an apology, I would like to ask some things about her husband, and if everything proved unfounded, then maybe I would do it.".

Velichka Tsanova, who dropped from the competition for a chairperson of the Sofia City Court, demanded that Tsvetanov apologize to her over his accusations that her candidacy was politically motivated.

The judge opposed the allegations in an open letter to the media.
