Italian Foreign Minister: Gaddafi Is Over!

The regime of Muammar Gaddafi is coming to an end, stated Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini, who is on a visit to the rebels in Benghazi.

"Gaddafi must leave his position and leave Libya," said Frattini Tuesday at a joint press conference with Ali al-Essawi, foreign policy representative of the rebel National Council.

The Italian Foreign Minister argued that Gaddafi's regime has lost all international support and recognition, as well as internal legitimacy regarding the Libyan people.

Italy has joined the NATO-led international campaign directed at ousting Col Gaddafi as Libya's leader.
