Levski Sofia's star striker, Malian-French Garra Dembele, has been named best African forward playing in Europe by Radio France Internationale.

Dembele topped RFI's ranking in terms of goals scored per games played at 1.13 goals per game, or 26 goals out of 23 games.

Second is Senegalese Dame N'Doye, playing for Danish champions Copenhagen with 25 goals in 31 games. Third is his compatriot Moussa Sow from Lille, who became the top scorer of the French championship with 25 goals in 36 games.

Fourth is also a Senegalese, Freiburg's Papiss Dimba Cisse (22/32); fifth is Inter's Samuel Eto'o from Cameroun (21/35).

Levski's top striker is rumored to face imminent transfer away from his team. Among the options mentioned is precisely replacing Cisse in Freiburg.

Dembele, who is of Malian decent, was born in France. He started his career in the junior team of Auxerre.

Dembele moved to Bulgaria in early 2010 to play for Lokomotiv Plovdiv, and has been playing for Levski Sofia since June 2010.
