Three small explosions occurred late on Monday in Ikea stores located in the Belgian city of Gent, Lille in Northern France and Eindhoven in The Netherlands.

No material damage or injuries have been reported after the blasts, which were caused by booby-trapped alarm clocks.

The first explosion occurred at an Ikea store in Gent in Belgium. Following a warning message, two alarm clocks exploded in in the stores warehouse, according to Belgian news agency Belga. Later the same evening, a refuse bin exploded at Ikea's store in Eindhoven in the Netherlands with police acting to evacuate the store. The third blast occurred near the French city of Lille.

Belgian and Dutch police are investigating the possible links between the cases, according to the Swedish site The Local.
