King Simeon II is the absolute leader in terms of confidence by Bulgarian voters, recent opinion polls show.

MBMD pooling agency survey, conducted May 11 to May 16, ranks King Simeon II first with 66%. National Movement Simeon II coalition might count on some 45% of the votes, MBMD said.

Bulgaria's king in exile entered local politics this April promising to bring radical changes in this country's structural reforms and its people's living standards in 800 days.

According to MBMD poll next comes Stefan Sofiyanski, currently Mayor of Sofia and ex premier of a caretaker cabinet, with 55% of probable votes.

Leveled is the support for Peter Stoyanov, President of Bulgaria. Nadezhda Mihailova, Minister of Foreign Affairs, follows with 47% of the votes of confidence while Ivan Kostov, Prime Minister, avails of 22%.

The key point, according to the MBMD survey, is the consolidation of the voters' intention to cast their ballots after a period of manifested reluctance. All polling agencies are unanimous that King Simeon II has brought fresh agitation in the election race.
