The head of Bulgaria's Agriculture Academy, Prof. Svetla Bachvarova, is to be ousted next week, Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov announced Friday.

Naydenov will propose to Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to dismiss her, the Agriculture Minister said.

The country's National Audit Office has registered multiple violations in the Agriculture Academy's management, Nadenov clarified.

"Since I became Agriculture Minister, I have ordered the Ministry's Inspectorate several audits of the Agriculture Academy. All five audits registered chronic violations. Therefore, I asked the National Audit Office to carry out a complete audit," he said.

This is the latest in the series of dismissals in Bulgarian state institutions.

On Wednesday, within a matter of a couple of hours, the government saw the resignation of Transport Minister Alexander Tsvetkov, the resignation of Deputy Economy Minister in charge of energy Mariy Kosev, as well as the finalization of the dismissal of National Social Security Institute head Hristina Mitreva.

According to Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the reshuffle of his Cabinet is based on "principled rules", the more specific rationale being technical failures such as failing to boost and accelerate the absorption of EU funds.
