Michael Schumacher Backs Bulgaria Road Safety Campaign

Formula One legend Michael Schumacher endorsed the "We Are All on the Road – You Are the Star" campaign initiated by the Bulgarian MEP from the EPP group, Iliana Ivanova.

"I congratulate you for the good initiative. Europe needs campaigns which make drivers more responsible on the road," Schumacher told Ivanova, as cited by BGNES.

The Formula One star visited the European Parliament to participate in the official launching of the "Decade of Action for Road Safety (2011 – 2020)", initiated by the World Health Organization and aiming at saving five million lives and preventing fifty million injuries over the next ten years through the implementation of programs that will improve the world's road safety.

The Bulgarian campaign, which is a part of the global initiative, has also been endorsed by the country's Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
