The ministers of interior and justice from the European Union Member States are holding an emergency meeting in Brussels Thursday, dedicated to the future of the Schengen zone.

The information was reported by the Brussels correspondent of the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR.

The meeting had been scheduled weeks before Denmark made its announcement Wednesday it would reinstate border and Customs control, but the topic of the debates would be precisely such measures and problems generated by migration influx.

France has already asked for the possibility of temporary reinstatement of border control in cases of mass migration while Italy and Germany have stated their support for such measure, which is to change the Schengen agreement.

The joining of Schengen by Bulgaria and Romania is not included in the agenda. Bulgaria will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
