Former Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Daniel Valchev, is planning to be one of the people behind an emerging political movement in the election year.

In an interview for the TV channel Nova Televizia, Valchev said the movement will be established with the goal of supporting the presidential bid of Bulgaria's former and first European Commissioner, Meglena Kuneva, but pointed out it would not be a political party standing behind Kuneva.

The former EU Commissioner had stated on several occasions she would enter the race as an independent candidate. Both Valchev and Kuneva have been elected to political posts as members of the party of former Tsar and Prime Minister, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, National Movement for Stability and Prosperity, NMSP.

Valchev rejected rumors he will run for Vice President, saying he would just do everything that is needed in order to help.

Regarding the new movement, the ex Minister said he did not expect miracles and millions of members, but was hopping all supporters will join in to explain why they think Kuneva is the best person to become Bulgaria's next President

Valchev did not commit to a date for the launch of the movement, only saying it would happen "when the time is right."
