Brazen Heist Reported at Safety Vault in Sofia

A large private bank safety vault has been robbed during the night Monday in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

The information has been confirmed by the Interior Ministry while the location of the vault is reported as 14 "Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi" boulevard in downtown Sofia.

Two individuals entered the vault overnight, around 2 am, attacking and tying up the two security guards. The guards remianed inside helpless for several hours after the robbery – until 6 am. One of them has been taken to the emergency hospital Pirogov to be treated for injuries, the TV channel bTV informs.

People with deposits at the vault have already gathered at the location, upon hearing the news, and are being interrogated by the police, according to the bTV report.
