Bulgarian Socialists Launch 'Day of Rage' from Plovdiv

Supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party have started their nationwide string of protests on occasion of the International Labor Day in Plovdiv.

Thousands marched along Plovdiv's main pedestrian street, carrying and chanting slogans against Bulgaria's center-right GERB cabinet.

People are in particular protesting the government's economic and social policy, the long term slowdown and high unemployment.

Marches across the country are organized under the motto "Day of Labor, Day of Rage."

A massive rally is expected in capital Sofia later on Sunday.
