Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov failed to reach the semi-final of the prestigious BMW tennis tournament in Munich

Grigor Dimitrov, aka Grisho, lost in a dramatic quarterfinal match Friday from Germany's Florian Mayer. Mayer beat Dimitrov 6-7(4), 6-3, 4-6.

The Bulgarian player is leaving the ATP tournament in Munich with EUR 11 190 and 45 points for the ATP ranking, which have moved him from 69th to 64th place, the highest ranking ever achieved by a Bulgarian male tennis player.

Next week Grisho will play in a ATP challenger in Prague, where he is Seed 2.
