The Editorial Staff of extends its warmest greetings to its Christian readers from around the world celebrating Easter on Sunday, April 24, 2011!

The 2011 Easter Date is unusual as it applies to both the western calendar (Catholic and Protestant Churches), and to the Eastern Orthodox church.

The two branches of Christianity have different methods for calculating the correct date for Easter and usually Bulgarians and other Eastern Orthodox nations celebrate it a week after the followers of the Western Christian churches.

There are only a few years each century when the Easter dates match like this, so Easter 2011 is seen as extra special by Christians around the world.

We wish peace, good health, and much success to all of you!

In the meantime, during the holidays and not only then, please follow the events real time on the (Sofia News Agency) website.

Happy Easter!

We need your support so can keep delivering news and information about Bulgaria! Thank you!
