Bulgaria's Prime Minister does no longer want to build a new national stadium but re-build four or five stadiums, all of which in the capital Sofia.

" We will build them simultaneously and according to all FIFA and UEFA criteria. Do I look like a man who is joking with serious stuff? We will build them on the spots where the current "Bulgarian Army", "Gerena", "Slavia and "Academic" are located," the Prime Minister declared.

Borisov clarified that the Bulgarian national football team may play on any of the new arenas, as well as any of Sofia' bigger football clubs. He pointed out that no taxpayers money will be used for the construction of the new stadiums. Instead, the Prime Minister considers selling three big former sport facilities – the "Rakovski", "Septemvri" and "Yunak" stadiums, which will provide money for his idea.

Previously, Borisov, who is an ardent football fan and  player, considered building a new national stadium near the Sofia airport.
