Gaddafi Sets 3 Conditions for Stepping Down

Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi has announced his three conditions in which he will step down to a rebel representative.

The dictator's first condition is to step down "honorably" and with his personal security guaranteed. The second one is for him to take a symbolic governmental position and the third – one of his sons, Seif al-Islam, to take over, the Arab press has reported, according to the Bulgarian Dnevnik daily.

Wednesday will see the first meeting of the international contact group on Libya, after the rebel leadership in Benghazi rejected a draft ceasefire agreement drawn up by the African Union on the grounds that it did not include Gaddafi's immediate removal from power.
