The Bulgarian state has filed court claims of ownership on forests returned to the heir of the country's defunct monarchy, Simeon Saxe-Coburg.

The claim, filed with the signature of Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Naydenov, who is also in charge of Bulgaria's forests, concerns forest returned to Simeon and other royal heirs in the area of the town of Samokov nearby Sofia.

Samokov is located at the foot of the Rila Mountains, with the Tsarska Bistritsa royal residence nearby. Bistritsa is also an estate returned to Simeon, and now claimed back by the state.

The claim is a follow-up to an earlier claim on the part of the state dating from spring 2009.
