The Chair of the Administrative Court in the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Burgas, Atanas Valkov, has been arrested.
The information was reported by the Interior Ministry Thursday evening.
Valkov has been detained when attempting to sell a property in the beach town of Nessebar. He had asked EUR 2.2 B for the lot, which was acquired by his mother with forged documents. The people, listed as heirs, who allegedly sold her the property, were not even aware they owned it, the Bulgarian news agency BTA informs.
A pre-trail procedure has been launched and charges in the case are pending.
The Unit for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) are raiding different locations in Burgas, including the Court's building, under the leadership of the Prosecutor's Office. The investigation is ongoing.
