Bulgaria's top female snowboarder, Alexandra Jekova, won her first gold medal in the World Cup snowboard championship at Thursday's race in Arosa, Switzerland.

With Bulgaria's Alexandra Jekova winning the gold in the Snowboard-Cross FIS World Cup in Arosa, American Callan Chythlook-Sifsof finished second, and Britain's Zoe Gillings finished third.

A fourth-place finish was enough to secure Canadian cross-racer Dominique Maltais an overall World Cup snowboard championship, with a total of 4 800 points.

Bulgaria's Jekova finished second overall with 3 200 points after a series of strong performances and several medals in the past few month.
