The Prosecutor's Office in Salzburg has exculpated the coach of the Bulgarian national football team Lothar Matthaeus, who was accused by his former wife in falsification of documents.

The lawyers of Matthaeus' fourth ex wife Liliana, aged 23, argued that for his divorce he has submitted false documents, showing that his address registration was in a city close to Salzburg. According to them, the coach had no right to get divorced in Salzburg because he never lived there.

The Austrian legislation envisions up to two years imprisonment for falsification of documents.

The Prosecutor's Office in Salzburg confirmed that they have launched an investigation on the case, which showed that the divorce was legal because every EU citizen could choose a court to get divorced.

The prosecutors also stated that Matthaeus did not need to present an address registration because the divorce was amicable.

At the beginning of February, the couple officially put an end to their marriage of two years.

At present, the coach of the Bulgarian football team is dating 23-year-old psychology student Ariadne.
