The unique sounds of 170 Bulgarian church, monastery and clock bells have been recorded and included in special electronic passports.

The recordings, together with images and videos of the respective bells will be gathered in a special Bell Knowledge stock, according to Galina Bogdanova, Associate Professor from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, who is responsible for the project.

Among the bells recorded, there is Bulgaria's biggest – the 12 ton bell of Sofia's Alexander Nevsky cathedral – and the most beautifully sounding - the one at the Preobrazhenski Monastery near the northern city of Veliko Tarnovo, according to Bogdanova.
