Bulgaria's Deep Zone Project Choose New Singer

Bulgarian house/electro band Deep Zone Project have chosen singer Eli Radanova to replace Joanna Dark, who was kicked out from the group at the end of February.

At the casting, Radanova impressed Deep Zone Project with her vocal abilities and was chosen among thousands of candidates to become the band's new member, according to the Bulgarian Story Magazine.

The singer participated in Music Idol two years ago, but was eliminated despite her good performance and could not reach the finals of the show.

The former singer of Deep Zone Project, Joanna Dark, was kicked out after the group's return from their 23-day tour in China.

One of the reasons was the singer's desire to start a solo career and her preliminary activities towards her goal, which firmly contradict the internal principles for participation in Deep Zone Project, the band's statement said.

Another reason is the producers' desire to focus more on live performances, as they would provide provide more and various opportunities for gigs in clubs.

Since 2007, as part of Deep Zone Project, Joanna has visited 15 countries, has participated in five national tours and in hundreds of club gigs and concerts, has recorded more than 50 songs and 15 videos.

The band also represented Bulgaria at the 2008 Eurovision contest with their song "DJ Take Me Away".
