Bulgaria to Stage Concerts during Earth Hour? Not Very Eco Friendly

At least 10 Bulgarian cities will turn off the lights for one hour to join the Earth Hour initiative, which will be held on March 26 at 8:30 pm.

On Earth Hour people around the world will switch off their lights in a symbolical global call to save energy and help prevent the deterioration of the global climate.

The idea behind it is for people to gather, spend time with friends in "peace and quiet", and have time to reflect on "themselves and their lives", according to the WWF.

However, Bulgaria has apparently decided it does not need "peace and quiet", since it was announced that there will be simultaneous concerts in Sofia and Pernik during the time of the initiative.

Unless the concerts are acoustic, I do not see how having guitars, drums, microphones, lights, etc. plugged in can help spread awareness for saving energy.
