3 Bulgarians Receive Jail Time in Belgium for Pimping

Three Bulgarian nationals have received effective jail sentences on pimping and prostitution charges in Belgium, according to the local edition Derniere Heure.

The three are brothers Ivelin and Vladimir Shishkovi, and Iglika Bakardzhieva – girlfriend of one of the brothers.

Ivelin Shishkov has been sentenced to six years behind bars and a fine of EUR 33 000; the other two received 40 months of jail time and a fine of EUR 16 500 each.

The magistrates found all three guilty of forcing six women into prostitution.

The investigation has revealed that the revenues from the prostitution and pimping activities have been wired through bank transfers to the Bulgarian city of Veliko Tarnovo.
