Bulgaria's Industrial Productiuon Up by 9.3% y/y January 2011

Bulgaria's seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index increased by 9.3% year on year in January 2010, according to the country's National Statistical Institute.

In January 2011, the working day - adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 3.2%, as compared to December 2010.

As compared to December 2010, the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index in manufacturing in Bulgaria increased by 18.7%, while decreases by 1.5% were registered. in the mining and quarrying industry and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

The most significant increases of production in the manufacturing were seen in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 36.6%, in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 23.4%, in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 16.4%, in the manufacture of textiles by 13.3%, in the manufacture of basic metals by 13.1%. There was decrease in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 5.1%.
