Bulgarians Enjoy First Batch of Non-Working Days for 2011

Bulgarians enter Thursday a period of four non-working days, a bonus they have been granted by the government for each of the national holidays in 2011.

There will be four non-working days for March 3 (National Liberation Day), May 24 (National Day of Culture and Slavic Script), September 22 (Independence Day). There will be three non-working days for September 6 (Unification Day).

The government's decision for the change aimed at avoiding splitting the work week and providing possibility for more effective use of the non-working days during the holidays.

Official non-working days are March 4 (Friday), May 23 (Monday), September 5 (Monday) and September 23 (Friday).

The new working days will be four Saturdays – March 19, May 28m September 3, September 17.
