Bulgarian Tennis Star Qualifies for 2nd Round in France

Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has qualified for the second round of the EUR 42 500 ATP Challenger in Cherbourg, France.

At the first round, the 19-year-old Bulgarian, who was Seed 1, defeated David Guez from France by 7-6(3), 7-6(4).

For this victory, he gained 8 ATP ranking points and EUR 730.

In the second round, Dimitrov will face the winner of the Tuesday match between Josselin Ouanna from France and Ivo Minar from the Czech Republic.

The Bulgarian also entered the doubles tournament in partnership with Russia's Konstantin Kravchuk. In the first round on Tuesday the pair will face Pavol Cervenak from Slovakia and Ivo Minar from the Czech Republic.

On Monday, it was announced that the Bulgarian tennis star has reached yet another high-ranking in the ATP list and is now 78th.
