Producer Prices Up by 11% in Bulgaria y/y

The Producer Price Index on Bulgaria's Domestic Market in January 2011 increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month and with 11.1% year on year.

The domestic prices increased in the mining and quarrying industry by 2.8% and by 0.9% in manufacturing, while in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply the prices dropped by 1.0%.

In manufacturing, the more significant prices increase comparing to the previous month were seen in the manufacture of basic metals by 6.7%, in the manufacture of food products and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 1.5%.

Year on year, the domestic prices increased in the mining and quarrying industry by 15.0%, in manufacturing by 11.4% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 10.1%.

In manufacturing, compared to the same month of 2010, increase was registered in the manufacture of basic metals by 25.0%, in the manufacture of food products by 9.8%, in the manufacture oftextiles by 8.4%. Decrease was seen in the manufacture of tobacco products by 13.3% and in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products by 3.8%.
