Bulgarian Interior Minister and His Mother-in-Law

"Mr. Tsvetanov, where did you get the money," the tax inspector asked Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

"From the chest of drawers," Tsvetanov replied.

"And who puts the money in there?" continued the tax inspector.

"My mother-in-law," said the Interior Minister.

"And who gives the money to her?" asked the inspector.

"I do," declared Tsvetanov.

"Ok, but where do you get it from?" went the unyielding tax inspector.

"From the chest of drawers," explained Tsvetanov.*

*This joke appeared in the Bulgarian media after a tax inspection did not find any descrepancies in the taxes and income of Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov but found discrepancies in the income of his in-laws. The tax authorities have not disclosed the exact nature of the discrepancies because of tax secret but the case led Bulgarian Prime Minister Borisov to ask a talk show host, "Do you know what taxes your mother-in-law pays?!" when the host asked Borisov to comment on Tsvetanov's tax situation.
