Three Bulgarian women were successful in their attempt to escape the turmoil in Libya and are reported safe in the Bulgarian Embassy in Tunisia.

The information was reported for the Bulgarian National Television, BNT, by Ambassador to Tunisia, Plamen Doykov.

All three are health care workers. They boarded a Tunisian ship from Benghazi and were met by Embassy representatives at the port in Tunisia. The Embassy is making arrangements for them to travel to Bulgaria. The women have reported the situation in Benghazi as dangerous.

Another group of 22 Bulgarians have reached the Turkish port of Marmaris late Sunday evening and another 111 were evacuated last week by plane from Tripoli.

The government Airbus is currently in Tripoli ready to make another rescue flight and would depart any moment. The Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry is asking those Bulgarian citizens who do not want to leave Libya to notify the Embassy in Tripoli about their intentions.
