Fewer Bulgarians Traveled Abroad Q4 2010

A 9.2% decrease in the number of Bulgarian citizens who traveled abroad in the last quarter of 2010 has been registered by the country's National Statistical Institute.

According to its preliminarily data, a total of 986 200 Bulgarian residents traveled within the country or abroad in last year's fourth quarter. The number of people who traveled within the country has also dropped – by 22.0%.

The relative share of those who traveled abroad for recreation was 52.4% and the rate of rate of Bulgarians who traveled within the country with the same purpose was 31.1%.

Those aged between 25-34 constituted the largest share (25.4%) of the total number of the residents

traveled abroad or within the country in the fourth quarter of 2010.
