Bulgaria Registers Further Increase in Wholesale Prices

The index of wholesale prices in Bulgaria continued to increase this week and reached 1.967 points, according to the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Market Places.

Data showed that a week ago, the index was 1.898 points, while at the end of January it was 1.833 points.

The biggest increase has been registered in cucumbers – 39.4%, and tomatoes – 22.5%. Potatoes, tangerines, and apples have gone up by 12.6%, 9.1% and 8.8%, respectively.

The price of lemons was increase by 1.5% to reach BGN 1.35 per kilogram, while oranges went down by 5.8% to BGN 0.81 per kilogram.

Sugar also registered an increase of 10.4% this week and reached a price of BGN 1.91 per kilogram.

The price of ground meat went slightly up by 0.4% and reached BGN 7.70 per kilogram, while regular frankfurters decreased by 1.1% to BGN 4.54 per kilogram.

Flour was sold at the same price as last week – BGN 1 per kilogram.
