The police and army troops in Bahrain's capital Manama shot at anti-government protesters on Friday wounding many of them.

The new incident comes after on Thursday Bahrain saw a demonstration demanding reforms, which was dispersed by force resulting in three deaths.

Meanwhile, the crown prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa promised to enter into a dialogue with the opposition but only on the condition that the protests be terminated.

Friday's gunfire occurred as participants in a peaceful march from the village of Daih entered into Manama during a procession to mourn a victim in a shooting in Monday. The demonstrators marched into the Pearl Square, where protesters were tackled on Thursday.

At least 50 were wounded as the Bahrain security forces fired into the crowd.

Bahrain, Libya and Yemen continue to see the aftershocks of the recent Arab revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, which brought down their respective dictators Ben Ali and Hosni Mubarak.
