The Foreign Policy Parliamentary Committees of Bulgaria and Romania are holding a joint meeting Wednesday to adopt a declaration for the readiness and the political will of the two countries to join the Schengen zone.

The meeting takes place in the Danube city of Ruse. The document will focus on the desire of Bulgaria and Romania to enter the zone together, and not be separated.

Ambassadors to Sofia from Belgium, Hungary and Poland, mayors and regional governors from Ruse and the Romanian Giurgiu are invited to attend. The Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria and Bulgarian Ambassador to Bucharest are also taking part.

Just two days ago, the Working Party for Schengen Matters (Sch-Eval) endorsed the technical reports on Bulgaria's readiness to join the borderless Schengen Area on Monday.

The technical approval, however, must be followed by the most important one – the political. France, Germany, Finland, and the Netherlands announced the condition for Bulgaria's and Romania's Schengen entry is major improvement in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
