Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, is going to be in charge of Bulgarians abroad and of the State Agency Archives.

The news was reported by the cabinet's press center Friday.

The Minister without Portfolio for Bulgarians Abroad, Bozhidar Dimitrov, resigned after the scandal with scores of Bulgarian diplomats who were exposed as agents and collaborators of the former Communist State Security (DS). Dimitrov has also been exposed as a DS agent years ago.

Initially, Borisov said the only ministerial post without portfolio will not be stricken, and Dimitrov even nominated his replacement. The PM, however, later changed his mind and decided to transfer the duties to Djankov.

Last week, the Parliament approved Dimitrov's resignation. The former Minister also decided to vacate his Parliamentary seat. He is returning to the National History Museum as its Director.
