2 More Earthquakes Registered at Bulgarian-Greek Border

Two more light earthquakes were registered overnight near the Bulgarian town of Petrich at the Greek-Bulgarian border, according to data from the European Seismological Center.

The first one, with a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale and 5-km deep epicenter, 13 km east of Petrich, occurred at 12:35 am. The second, with a magnitude of 2, had a 10-km deep epicenter, 12 km west of the town of Sandanski, and was registered at 1:10 am.

So far, there is no information about injured people or material damages in the region as a result of neither of the earthquakes.

On Monday a light earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale was registered at 6:20 pm in Petrich, 170 km from Sofia.

Earlier on Monday, at 12:39 am, another earthquake with a similar intensity, 3.1 on the Richter scale, occurred 9 km northwest from Petrich at a depth of 8 km.
